Colour Q Challenge # 202

Hello Again

I really like the colour combination in the latest Colour Q Challenge…..It is one I have never used and probably would not have thought of using if it were not for this challenge!. This is what I like so much about Colour Q colour combos they help me to step out of my usual colour comfort zones and try something new!

Here is the inspiration for this weeks Colour Q Challenge…….

I have all of these Stampin Up! colours apart from Ruby Red…So I substituted PTI Pure Poppy which is the nearest I have to this red.

Here is my card………

I decided to keep it relatively simple this week (at least for me!!). So I stamped a background using a Paper Smooches Stamp with SU Basic Grey, So Saffron and PTI Pure Poppy inks and matted this on to some SU Daffodil Delight card with a Basic Grey card base. I then added my sentiment on a banner and a Pure Poppy bow.

Supplies: Card –  SU Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey, PTI White. Stamps – Paper Smooches Potpourri, Hero Arts Find Joy . Inks – SU Basic Grey, So Saffron PTI Pure Poppy, Versafine Onyx Black Dies – MFT Fishtail Flag Banners. Ribbon  and Buttons from my stash. Fiskars paper trimmer. Martha Stewart Mini Score Board.

Thanks for looking!

Colour Q Challenge # 201

Hello there!

I am really enjoying Colour Q Challenges! I love bright colours especially  (really Kathryn…..I never would have thought that from your cards!!!) and coming up with new colour combos so this challenge is right up my street!

This is the colour combo/inspiration for this week

This combination of colours is very pretty and looks so great on the dress. So I took the colours together with the stripes on the dress and came up with the card below.

I gave the Happy die cut more dimension by cutting it out several times and then layering them up to give a more dimensional embellishment.

Supplies: Card – PTI White, SU Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Basic Grey , MFT Sno Cone (closest I had to Soft Sky) Dies –  Simon Says Stamp Happy Die, MFT Jumbo Ric Rac. Stamps – Simon Says Stamp Happy  Stamp Set. Ink – SU Night of Navy. Fiskars paper Trimmer. Martha Stewart Mini Scoring Board. WR Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Thanks for taking a look, back soon!

Colour Q – Challenge # 200 and Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge – Anything Goes!

Today I have a card made for Colour Q Challenge # 200. Such a pretty colour combo. Got to love the peacock too!! I would also like to submit this card to the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge for this week Anything Goes! I used one of my favourite stamp and die combos from Paper Smooches – Streamers and a sentiment from one of my all time favourite sentiment stamp sets…Sentiment Sampler!

Here is the Inspiration for the Challenge From the Colour Q blog……..

Here is my take!

I haven’t been making too many cards with flowers lately as there was a time when I couldn’t resist putting them on everything! But the time has come again and I used the PTI lovely layers die to make a styalised flower.

Supplies: Card – Bazzill Marshmallow, SU So Saffron, Old Olive, Marina Mist and Midnight Muse. Patterened Paper – Pebbles Family Ties 6×6 pad. Ink – SU Midnight Muse. Stamps – Paper Smooches Streamers, Sentiment Sampler. Dies – Spellbinders Large Circles, PTI Lovely Layers, Paper Smooches Streamers. Button – SU Old Olive.
